Béton ciré Versoix: Enhance your floors and walls with an exceptional mineral coating

Your bathroom transformed, without the constraints of a traditional building site

Choosing waxed concrete in Versoix means you can enjoy a calm, controlled renovation. There's no need to plan the removal of tonnes of broken tiles or endure weeks of noise pollution. We offer you a top-of-the-range covering solution that will transform your bathrooms while enhancing the value of your property.

Covering over existing tiles: elegant renovation without rubble

Why undertake costly demolition work when you can enhance what already exists? Thanks to its minimal thickness (just 2 to 3 mm), our mineral coating can be applied directly to your existing earthenware or porcelain stoneware. This technique preserves your door and window frames - you don't have to plane the door - and allows you to renovate quickly, cleanly and without waste. Your old bathroom disappears beneath a noble, contemporary material, for a spectacular result.

Walk-in showers: a watertight, hygienic barrier

Moisture is the number one enemy in wet rooms. The waxed concrete installed by our craftsmen incorporates high-performance water-repellent treatments that completely seal the surface. Your walk-in shower becomes a totally watertight monolith. No more joints blackened by mould: you'll enjoy a smooth, healthy and durable surface that can be cleaned with a simple wipe.

Living room, kitchen and stairs: the art of visual continuity

Waxed concrete is not limited to your bathrooms. It can be used in every living space in your Versailles home to create remarkable harmony and fluidity between rooms.

Thermal comfort and a velvety feel

Unlike traditional tiling, which is often perceived as cold, waxed concrete naturally maintains the ambient temperature of the room. It works perfectly with underfloor heating systems, ensuring even, optimum heat distribution. Its silky texture makes walking barefoot in your living room or bedrooms particularly pleasant to the touch - a valuable asset in Versoix homes, where indoor comfort is paramount all year round.

Sculptural worktops, credenzas and staircases

The strength of waxed concrete lies in the total absence of visual breaks. We can dress a staircase so that it appears to be carved from a single block of stone, or design a kitchen splashback that naturally extends over the worktop. Thanks to high-resistance varnishes available in matt, satin or gloss finishes, these high-traffic areas or areas exposed to stains (grease, coffee, wine) remain protected and easy to maintain on a daily basis.

Azzo: Your waxed concrete specialists, near Versoix

Laying waxed concrete is a demanding art that tolerates no approximation. The wrong dosage, the wrong fitting or careless preparation of the substrate can lead to cracks. With Azzo, your project is entrusted to master craftsmen whose expertise is recognised throughout the canton of Geneva.

Two passionate craftsmen, expertise in the field

Founded in 2018 by Aureliano Gazzella and Harald Zoeteweij, Azzo was born of the friendship and complementary skills of two building professionals. Based in Satigny, just a few minutes from Versoix via the Route de Vernier or the motorway, these qualified craftsmen have over 25 years' experience working on Geneva construction sites. Their shared vision is to offer top-of-the-range finishes and an impeccable local service, a far cry from impersonal industrial standards.

Handcrafted for a unique look

Waxed concrete is not just paint applied with a roller. It's a living material, worked by hand with a smoothing machine. It's the craftsman's touch that creates the texture, nuances and depth of the coating. Whether you want a pronounced marble effect to enhance your lakeside villa or a more sober, mineral finish for your city-centre flat, we adapt our technique to make your floor or wall a truly unique creation.

Frequently asked questions : Waxed concrete in Versoix

Undertaking renovation or decoration work legitimately raises technical questions. Because the success of your project depends on trust and transparency, we've put together a list of the most frequently asked questions about the installation, maintenance and durability of our waxed concretes.

Yes, in the vast majority of cases. It's all about preparing the substrate. We apply a special primer and, if necessary, a fibre-reinforced levelling compound to stabilise the surface and ensure that the ghost of the old joints never reappears. It's the ideal solution for quickly renovating a flat or house without having to embark on major demolition work.

No. For wet areas, we adjust the finish to provide the right grip for bare feet. The waterproof coating we use has a calibrated grain size that guarantees safety for both children and senior citizens, while maintaining a smooth, aesthetic appearance.

Maintenance is extremely simple. With no joints, dirt can't get in anywhere. A microfibre broom and a pH-neutral cleaner (such as black soap or Marseille soap) are all you need for routine maintenance. Simply avoid corrosive products such as pure bleach or acidic limescale to preserve the protective varnish over the long term.

This is one of the great advantages of waxed concrete: the entire system (primer + mortar + varnish) is no more than 3 mm thick. You generally don't need to plane your doors or modify your thresholds, which makes renovation much simpler than laying new tiles or parquet.

Absolutely. Our workshop is located in Satigny, which puts us very close to Versoix and the whole of the right bank of Lake Geneva. We regularly work in Versoix and its neighbourhoods (town centre, Port-Choiseul, La Pelotière, Écogia), as well as in Genthod, Collex-Bossy and throughout the canton of Geneva. We also travel to the canton of Vaud for specific projects.
